Happy Easter Everyone!!!! Spring is almost here. Our grass is green “ing” up, the Daffodils are in full bloom and the trees are budding… We have some Daffodils growing in our back yard. The snow and ice have been absolutely beautiful, but I want some warm weather. 
Mom said her home was full of Babe Easterexcitement around Easter Time when she was a little one. She always went out to shop for a new dress for Easter Sunday. They colored hardboiled eggs and took them to church so they could hide them in the grass for the yearly Easter Egg Hunt. (Good thing I wasn’t around then because there would not have been an Easter Egg Hunt….I love hard boiled eggs!!)
She told me there was always a prize for finding the “Special Egg”. Excuse me……a prize???? Well, I can find eggs anytime I want and no one ever offered me a prize!!! Mom….can we talk? Getting back to Easter festivities…….Easter Sunday always started by getting up at 4:30 a.m. to get ready for Sunrise Service. She said her mom always served cinnamon buns for breakfast on Easter. (nice choice) Service started at 6:00 a.m. She said at her church, they always sang a song….Up from the Grave He Arose, with a mighty triumph ore’ his foes….etc. etc. When Sunrise Service was over the family went to breakfast and then back to church for regular Sunday services…..everyone was all dressed up. After service, they had a big Easter Egg Hunt. She had a multi-colored basket with green grass in it to hold the eggs. I bet she was a hoot!!!!
I wonder what Easter Sunday festivities will be for me? Well, one thing for sure….I have my Easter bonnet on….as you can see in my new blog. I wouldn’t mind having a “cinnamon roll” covered milk bone for breakfast. I don’t need any new outfits ‘cause mom says they don’t let pets in church during services. I never have understood that. I’m thankful that mom’s church is live on-line, so I can watch with her when she gets back. I’m sure I will have a great Easter and mom and I hope all of you will have a great Easter with family and friends.
