Ohio Snow Storm of 2010 Melting Away

Winter Store 2010Hi to all my friends. It’s been a while since I have written. We have been snowed in.

We had a total of 17” of snow at our house…something we are not used to in central Ohio. Needless to say, mom and I have not been going on our full mile walk. The snow was piled so high I couldn’t see the streets. I have a nice winter coat, but I refuse to wear the boots, so I couldn’t stay out too long.

We still can’t see the grass, but it is a little warmer and the snow is melting very slowly. As most of you know I normally walk with my buddy Madison but her mom was out of town. Madison told me her grandpa passed away who lived in Florida. Her mom flew to Florida to attend services and reunite with family. Her grandpa was reunited with grandma and all their pets were there to meet him. Madison said she was sure it was a happy reunion!! Madison stayed home to take care of the house with her daddy.

Madison’s mom returned home. Our mom’s talked and both of us heard “walk” and our ears perked up. YEAH!!!! We’re going on a walk….together. Madison lives around the corner. Mom and I got our winter coats on and went outside to wait for them to join us. I kept looking around the corner waiting for my friend to come.

We still have a lot of snow, but I could see the streets and I saw her and her mom coming. My mom and I started walking toward them. All of a sudden our eyes met and we took off to meet each other (on leashes of course). It seemed such a long time since we had been together. When we finally reached each other, we sniffed each other, then we kissed and all is well again. We took a full mile walk and it was great. Hopefully the snow is over for the season and we are looking forward to the spring and fresh flowers.

Both of us like to get out and smell the fresh air and get the exercise that we need. Actually Madison and I were pretty tired when we returned home….we had to re-mark our territory for a full mile. All the snow has cleaned everything. We can probably get it all re-marked in a few more walks. Wow….what a job!! Mom put a picture of our Koi pond that is iced over and load with snow!! The fish are just fine. I’m sure they are waiting for spring too.
