Pet Stories from A Message from Pet Heaven and A Message from Your Pet

Major was our first request for a letter from Pet Heaven (1999)....he wanted his parents to know he was okay.

Major and Chrissy

I received my first letter from "Pet Heaven" many years ago when I lost Major, (Ole Major - Ole ShepShep), my beloved dog.  In that letter many special things that Major did and loved were mentioned, and that he had seen my "Dad" and he was fine.  I have kept that letter after all these years and cherish it to this day.Chrissy Sue's cat

I lost, Chrissy (PusPus) on June 15, 2009, my beloved cat who I had for nineteen years, and received another letter from "A Message From Pet Heaven".  Both of these wonderful letters brought a bitter/sweet closure to my loss.  I pictured them roaming the valleys of heaven, young again and in no pain.  The lettters also gave me something tangible to keep representing my great love for these two fine animals.

I will always be grateful to my personal friend and originator of "A Message From Pet Heaven" in making the end of their journey in my life softer and gentler.

I will see both of them at the "Rainbow Bridge".

Maia and Donna

Maia and Donna

Well, Phyllis, I don’t know how you managed to get Maia’s letter from heaven to us here in New York without being stamped by the United States postal service, but I guess anything is possible.

We received the letter yesterday and my husband, Sophie and I sat on the patio and read it, not a dry eye in the house. It is warm, funny, totally Maia to a "T"! This has been an exhausting ordeal and I know I’m still running on pure adrenaline but all of these things help in the healing process. This morning, her announcements and Mass cards came in the mail and that's another job for me to do as well!

She came back home to us on Tuesday and for the first time in years, she was able to sleep with me in my bedroom again. (We have a 200 year old house with close to 30 steep steps leading to the second level and she hasn’t been able to do them in years!) So I now have her back close to me every night! I did want you to know how much I appreciate the hard work and the time you spent on her letter to make it just perfect. We’re having it professionally matted and framed and it will be placed with jazzes’ memorial on the mantel of my husband's fireplace in his office here at home. She’s still all over the house! :o) and I wish I knew your secret of how it got to us without going through the mail, no stamp, no city, no date, etc. Amazing! It certainly added to the intrigue of her letter. Thanks again so much. It was a pleasure meeting you and you have been a part of our healing process.

God bless you for what you are doing. I know some people think we're crazy, but I know Maia is just resting and waiting till we see her again on the other side.....

Shalom,
Donna

Patti and Pebbles

Patti and PebblesI lost my beloved Pebbles of 15 years, September4, 2007 She meant everything to me and the void I felt was unbearable.

One day I received from a friend an unexpected letter from Pet Heaven. I cried reading it but the tears were not only sorrow but of joy as well. It gave me some closure, but I will never forget Pebbles because she will forever remain in my heart and in that letter.

Stephen, Erin and Zeus - Thank You For Rescuing MeZeus Stephen and Erin

Zeus is a beautiful dog, “specially made” for Stephen and Erin. Zeus is a rescue dog and his mom and dad had a real challenge with him. With lots of love he has turned into a wonderful dog and they are a real family.

Stephen and Erin said:

We enjoyed the “thank you for rescuing me letter” and it was really cool. The letter was so personal we thought it would be just what he would have said to us. We are so glad we rescued him.

Fonzies Story

FonzieFonzie was a Daddy’s boy and the entire family loved his big ears and his Budha belly. He was a very special guy with a wonderful sense of humor and loyalty. Fonzies’ mom sent a picture to us so we could include him in our pet stories. The following paragraph came from Fonzies’ mom to let us know that his Daddy got the message from Fonzie in Pet Heaven.

Hi:

Hubby received the letter on Monday, Fonzie's 1 week anniversary and we picked up his ashes on Tuesday so everything just fell into place for me. Thank you so much. He loved it, heck everyone loved it. We are going to frame it and keep it right beside his box of ashes.

Thank you again, Tonya - Warwick, RI

Jody's Letter Helps Mom

Jody and her momThanks so much for the wonderful letter you sent my Mom from her precious Jody. He has my Dad's name and since my Dad passed away 6 years ago you can imagine how special he is to her. As I told you in our initial conversation my Mom had a heart attack and then had her right leg amputated. She was having a very difficult time but when she got your letter I could see that she was moved and motivated to fight. It was simply a little miracle. I hope you continue to do this because I know that others will have the same comforting and rewarding experience that we did. It is amazing the loving and inspirational affect our pets can have on us.

Shelley sent us a thank you note:

Hello Phyllis,

Mark & Mother Helen - Letter of encouragement

Precious (pictured) wrote a letter to her Dad, who had been employed for 20 years Mark and Sissywith the same company.  The company went out of business.  Precious knew something was wrong because Dad went to work every day and now he was home all the time...and he didn't seem to be very happy.  Finally Precious figured it out...he wasn't employed.  Precious wanted him to know that she understood and she wanted him to know that she believed in him.  He had always provided for the family and she knew he would do it again.  Precious went to Grandma Helen and asked her to get one of those "A Message From Your Pet" letters and send to her dad.  So Grandma Helen called and they wrote the letter as Precious had dictated.

Her dad was very moved by the words of encouragement.  Precious did add a tint of humor.  She told her dad as long as they got to dress in Pittsburgh Steeler outfits,  keep the cable plugged in so they can cuddle as they watch the Steelers, everything would be okay.  Go Steelers!!!
